AN ELDERLY cyclist is nursing multiple fractures after he was mowed down in a callous hit-run in Melbourne’s south-east.

The 76-year-old man was riding his bicycle south along Narrawong Rd in Caulfield South around 8.30am last Wednesday when he was struck by a red hatch driving east along near-by Burrindi Rd.
The driver failed to stop at the scene and drove off along Burrindi Rd.
The victim, who suffered non-life threatening injuries in the collision, was transferred to the Alfred Hospital.
Investigators are appealing for the driver to come forward.
Detectives also hope to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or the red hatch near Burrindi Rd before the collision.
Police have released an image of the car involved in the hope that someone may be able to shed some light on the whereabouts of the driver.
